The Walking Dead To Celebrate Comic’s 10th Anniversary At San Diego Comic Con


Exclusive Content, Interactive Exhibits Featured Throughout Four-Day Conference

SAN FRANCISCO – June 25, 2013 – Future US, aleading digital media and content marketing group, and Skybound, Robert Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, announced today they are partnering once again at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2013 with a host of experiential activations around The Walking Dead universe. The partnership celebrates a decade of Robert Kirkman’s groundbreaking Eisner Award-winning comic book series and best-selling graphic novels. This year’s campaign applauds the wild popularity and longevity of The Walking Deadcomic series.


The Future US booth will kick off July 17, 2013 at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2013 with the debut of the Veloster Zombie Survival Machine, a custom 2013 Hyundai Veloster built by renowned car fabrication shop, Galpin Auto Sports., a unique configurator app, will allow fans to design their own custom digital zombie survival machine on the show floor. The submitted designs will be entered into a contest and the winning design will be constructed and unveiled at New York Comic-Con in October 2013.


“I had so much fun designing last year’s Zombie Survival Machine that I wanted to invite fans ofThe Walking Dead to share that experience and see their vision come to life at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con,” said Kirkman. “It’s hard to believe the growth and expansion The Walking Dead has undergone since I began writing the comic ten years ago. This entire event is a thank you to fans of The Walking Dead universe.”


In addition, the booth will feature Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game, zombie costume contests, celebrity appearances, a zombie makeup station, and social media contests.

If there were an Emmy category for rawness, Andrew Lincoln wouldn’t  just be under consideration for a nomination, he’d be the frontrunner for the win. The work the actor did on AMC’sThe Walking Dead this past season as grieving Sheriff Rick Grimes felt so real that, at times, it was difficult to watch. (He didn’t even watch himself!) Here, the 39-year-old Englishman opens up about how he approached his widowed character’s breakdown and whether he thinks Emmy voters will be able to overcome their genre bias to give him and his hit cable series a chance.

TVLINE | It was such an intense season for you. How did you recover and wind down after playing all of that rage and desolation?

It is a brutal and dark place you have to inhabit, but I’m very good at disengaging. And there’s no better way to unplug than having children. Changing diapers is one of the most leveling things that has ever happened to me. Realizing that my children are the center of the universe and not me is probably one of the greatest ways to acclimatize.

Walking Dead Marathon on AMC Starting on July 4th!

If you’re like me and you have been desperately missing The Walking Dead while waiting for it’s return in October, good news! AMC has decided to air a marathon of all 3 seasons starting on July 4th!

Here is the schedule:

July 4th:
1:00PM EST – Season 1, episodes 1-6 will air.
8:00PM EST – Black & white versions of season 1, episodes 1-6 will air.

July 5th:
1:00PM EST – Season 2, episodes 1-13

July 6th:
1:00PM EST – Season 3, episodes 1-11

July 7th:
1:00PM EST – Season 3, episodes 9-16
